Therapy for Millennials

Failure To Launch

“I am waiting for something better”

If you have heard this ENTITLED excuse and others like it, you have a child who likely falls into the infamous generation labelled the Millennial generation. This also means that you are in the right place.

Many parents of millennials are reporting the same struggles you are. They report they find themselves constantly feeling frustrated, angry, worried, helpless, hopeless, and guilty.

Research shows that approximately 25% of millennials live at home with their parents and approximately 65% of millennials rely on their parents financially. On the other side of the coin, 95% of parents expect their children to be financially independent by the time they are 25 years old.

Time to Bridge the Gap.

A common misconception is that ALL millennials want to live at home and stay financially dependent on their parents as long as possible. This is not necessarily the case. Many young adults want to a achieve independence, but either have run into legitimate obstacles or think that they cannot do it. This is where working with a Licensed Psychologist is a must. A psychologist will develop a non-judgmental relationship with the individual struggling to assist them to learn to overcome obstacles and to learn to challenge irrational and negative thinking patterns that might be sabotaging their efforts.

A psychologist can also work with the family as a whole to assist to move everybody toward a solution all parties will be happy with.

Asking For Help is the 1st Step.

There is no reason to wait any longer. Turmoil between a parent and a son or daughter can tear a family apart. This is not what you or your children want. If you want a different result you have to do different things.
